"Rooted in early-20th-century blues and jazz, but
freshened up with the 21st-century cheek of Sowers'
teasing vocals and clever lyrics." - NPR
Billboard-charting blues/roots band Davina and The
Vagabonds return with Shoot for the Moon – their first
original album in 5 years. Mixing their signature bluesy
swagger with playful pop sounds and soulful vocals, they
come to the crossroads where Lake Street Dive meets
Leon Russell.
Designed as Davina’s personal mixtape, the album
features self-penned songs of love and loss, tossed in with
covers by John Prine, Los Lobos and Louis Jordan.
“The covers I chose for the album were the remedies that
got me through the last few years of turmoil with some
levity and freedom,” Davina says. “Kinda acting as a salve to heal these old and new wounds of mine.”
